Hi, My cousin who is a US citizen sent sponsorship to my brother to come and Visit US. My brother is 37yrs and married and lives in india. I'm also in US on H4 status.
- Is it okay to if my brother is sponsored by my cousin?
-Or is it better if my husband who is on H1B sends the sponsorship?
-My husband sponsored my mother last month and she got the visa....would it be okay for my husband to sponsor my brother that soon or shouls we wait a while.
-And if my cousin sponsor's him than do they need to send her copy of her passport as well?

I would really appreciate if someone can advise me on this as my brother is all ready to apply for a visitor visa. This will be the first time he'll be applying and i would like him to do the right and safest way.

Thanks

Please anyone advise.......

----> It is a little better for your husband or you to send the sponsorship as sometimes (rarely) consulates can question why a cousin would sponsor someone..

----> There is no requirement for a time duration in between though ur husband/you may require to show a larger amount of funds. Typically, consulates expect 20-30k per visitor, so ideally you should have 40-60k. You may be ok with 20-30k as well, especially as ur bro is applying separately than your mother and consulate will most probably not match the sponsor names..

-And if my cousin sponsor's him than do they need to send her copy of her passport as well?

----> Yes,

More advise regarding visitor sponsorship

Thanks.....I've have one more questions regarding this...
-Can my brother use the same sponsorship papers my husband sent for my mother......especially the employment letter which was dated mid March'04 and i can send him all the other recent bank letter and statements. I believe a sponsorship is valid for six months as told by the embassy people.

Thanks again for your help

You probably can use the same employment letter, but if it was me - I would get a fresh one.. Visit visa is one of the trickiest as it is totally dependent upon the interviewer's whims and fancies - won't take a chance with it.. You would anyways need to send a new letter of invitation for your brother, so why not include new papers as well..
