Hi,
I am a permanent resident and am employed with my City's govt. I had sponsored my parents vistor visa and it got rejected (Their appointment was on March 15th, 2005 in Delhi). The rejection clause being that the person at the delhi cousulate felt that my parents might be going to settle there. Here's a brief background about their case.
Parents age: 68yrs - Dad; 60yrs - Mother
Father retd from Got. service 12 yrs ago. Now on pension.
My parents took all the required documents, he had his financial asset notatrized by the CA there in Delhi.
The lady at the consulate looked at all the documents and the photocopy of my permanent resident card, my employment letter etc and said that since your son (i.e. me) is settled in US, their (my parents) intention would also be to settle down in the US and hence could not offer the travel visa. My father tried convincing the lady that his 2 daughters (my sisters) are also in delhi along with his property, pension and other family members. He only needed the visa for 4-5 months. But it was rejected.
They have been asked to re-apply after 3 days. The lady at the cousulate took their DS-156/157 applications along with my letter of employment, my inivitation letter to my parents and the letter to the counsulate.
Could any one help in pointing out what went wrong and what can be taken care of on their next appointment?
All help/advice would be greatly helpful and appreciated.
Thanks in Advance
