Visitor Visa - Mumbai Consulate

To obtain visitor visa at Mumbai Consulate,

a) Do I have to send Original Birth Certificate? Is it mandatory? :rolleyes:

b) I am on EAD/AP and H1B is already expired. Do I have to send any H1 related documents or only EAD/AP/485 receipt will sufficient?
