Hi, my mother is scheduled to attend the interview for visitor visa in chennai. I would like to know whether we need to send all the required and supporting documents to the Consulate PRIOR to the interview?

Or she should carry all the documents only when she goes to the interview?

I am little confused because I wonder how will the consulate be able to go through all the douments during the 15 minutes of interview.

Appreciate a response.

I can tell you what happened at Delhi consulate when my parents went to get visitor visa. The papers were checked right at the entrance for completeness. Their photos were not right, so they had to go and get pictures done again and came back showed documents again. The clerk at entrace window just makes sure that documents are in order and complete and nothing critical is missing. Then you are let in for the interview.

At time of interview, the interviewer reviews papers asks questions, and if visa is to be granted , he asks for passport and keeps them and will tell u when to expect the passport with visa back.

Hope this helps,
