Hi,
My sister is planning to come to the US in Summer. She lives in North Europe, just graduated recently, single, works full time and has a house and mortgage for the past 2 years. My sister has been in the US atleast thrice before, once as a student, and twice on visitors visa.
About 3 years ago, when she applied for the visa, it was rejected. The reason given was that our mother had overstayed her student visa in the US. However, this is not really true, because, she was, and still is in status, as she is doing her doctoral degree, and has all relevant documents from the school. After my sister's visa rejection, my mom's school sent a letter to the Embassy explaining the situation. But, there was no reaction.
Now, she wants to come here again for a couple of weeks in Summer. How best to approach the situation, to avoid another rejection? We would love to meet her after 3 years. Any inputs appreciated. Thanks.
