My H1 visa is expiring in Jan 17 2006 and I have applied for renewal in Oct 2005 from New Jersey. But since processing times are very slow these days, they say it might take another 3 months (April 2006) to get my renewed visa approval (I-797). Anyway I have the original EAC receipt for this extension. Meanwhile I would like to bring my parents to US on visitor visa and their interview at Chennai consulate is scheduled for 1st week of Feb 2006 . Can they get a visitor visa if they take my original EAC receipt with my original expired H1-visa approval ? Does anybody have an idea about this or has anybody tried this before. Your suggestions and opinions will be greatly appreciated.
