visitor visa for Dad

Good day!
I work for a major telecom company in US (on H1 visa) and wish to have my Dad visit me sometime. My Mom is no more and my Dad just retired from work. Could that be an issue when he applies for a US visa? We have a house in Bombay, India (and is in my Dad's name)
Also, how much bank balance do the consular officers usually look for when we send our finances details?

I do not think it will be a problem. What your father has to do is to face the VO boldly and answer the questions asked. Please conduct mock interviews and prepare him well to to face the VO.He should make sure that after the visit he will come back to his home town. You can show a balance of !5K.
