Approved on 04/07.

It was not e-filing.

Hi desiImmi.,

I wish to bring my Father-in-law from India on Visiting visa B2.
We got appointment in 3rd week of July at Chennai.
What are the documents can he produce at Chennai US embassy?
He is working in Mandal revenue office.

What are the documents to i send him?. My status is PR in us.

This is more importent to me and more helpful to us.

Docs needed for B2 Visa

The docs given by me as sponsor :

1) I-134 Affidavit of support ( notarized )
2) Latest bank stmt with balance and how long the account has been open
3) Letter from employer with current title, salary and how long I have been working with them.
4) Few latest pay stubs
5) A letter inviting my mother, Notarized
6) Copy of my passport
7) Copy of my GC ( just in case )
8) Return ticket

Thanks for this valuable info. I am trying to apply for an extension of B2 visa for my parents at the Texas Service Center. Their visa is valid till mid July and I am trying to request an extension. Pl help me with these questions-

What reasons did you give for requesting an extension?
(I have a baby.... I am not sure if that's good to mention, I am more thinking like saying stuff like tourism)

How many months of extension did you request?

What documents did you send apart from the I539, did u send an I134 affidavit of support?

What copies of tickets did u send, all I have is their tickets back to India dated July 11, is that good? or do u have to send tickets in anticipation of the extension?

and Did u receive an actual Approval of Extension by April 7th?? or the recipt like others say...

I need to file an extension for both of my parents. I believe I'll need to file Form I-539. My question is - the filing fee would be $195.00, or 2 X $195.00 = $390.00? Please let me know.

Filing fee is $195 irrespective of the # of people on a single application. So it will be $195 for either 1 parent or both parents. Hope this is clear. It is clearly mentioned in the I-539 instructions.
