Visitor visa extension for in-laws

My in-laws have come to USA on 6mth visitor visa.They reached here last mth & their I-94 is valid till Dec 14. Their sponsor for visa is my brother-in law. My baby is due in Nov & I wish their stay could be extended for 3mth after Dec 14.
a) Should my husband or my brother-in-law file for extension of their visa ?
b) What reason should we specify for extension ?
c) When should we apply for extension as USCIS takes 3-4mths for application processing ?
Pls respond.

wait till about Oct to file.

It does not matter who sponsored when they got the visa, anyone of you can sponsor them for extension.

State reasons like tourism etc not baby.
