Visitor visa documents

Guys,

I am planning to bring my mother-in-law from Chennai, India to help my wife having baby. But my Visa stamp and H1 expired in April this year. We are still waiting for the extension to get approved. At this point all I got is my H1B extension receipt copy. Will the chennai consulate accept this has a sufficient proof of my status? Of course, I have to send other documents including bank statements, I-134, employment letter, passport copy (had to renew passport recently, blank right now, no visas in it!), old passport copy and what else???

Appreciate any response! Please help!!

Sorry, But since your visa is expired, and you already have applied for your extention, which is still not approved, will wont help.

The Consulate at Chennai will have an opportunity to reject based on that information...

If you have friends or relatives with valid legal status ask them to help you sending invitation and sponcer OR Tell your Mother-in-law to go for visa on their own..just as a tourist visitor, on their own papers.
