First up, sorry for posting it in this forum -- I am doing it, because this appears to be more active than the visitor visa forums 
A couple of friends from India want to visit the US, and they want me to send them affidavits of support for their tourist visa.
Is it acceptable for one to file affidavits of support for friends, or is this only for close relatives? Also, in the section on form I-134 that asks "Have you previously filed Affidavits of support for anyone ?" , do I need to mention the affidavits I previously (over 2 years ago) filed for my parents?
Any input on this will be appreciated.
