Visiting India after GC

Hello friends,

Posting on this forum after many years and hence pardon me if I chose the wrong category.

I am on GC for the past few years and have continuously resided in US.

I plan to visit India next month and wish to take a brand new laptop (sealed and in original box) to give it to my parents. Will there be an issue about Customs in India? Would I need to pay any duty? Or should I open the box and take just the laptop and let it pass as a used personal piece?

Why dont you check the India Customs website?
Unless you put it in check-in laggage, you need to show the naked laptop when boarding.
