Visit Visa - First Entry time limit

Hi,

My m-i-l got 10 years multiple entry visit visa in 2001. Due to her health issue she was not able to come to US at that time.

I am planning to get her now, but not sure that Visa is valid or has to go thru another visa process ?

Any experienced though will be highly appreciated.

A 10 year multiple entry visa can be used any time during the period of validity. She can enter any time till 2011. Not using it in 2001 doesn't make it time barred.
