Visit to South Korea

Has anybody here visited South Korea? I've 2 questions involved.

1) Can I apply Advance Parole instead of RTD as an asylee with I485 pending?

2) How long would it take to apply for visa from South Korean's embassy or
consulate?

Thanks.

You don't have to apply for advanced parole because your 485 is pending. RTD is a way to go.

Sorry dont have an answer to the second question. Have a nice trip.

i believe it takes one to two days

last year i was planning to go to south korea fo a visit,

i contact the south korea counselate,i told them i have refugee travel document, they told me i can apply for visa, i still remember they mention it takes one day to get visa,

the counselate general i contact based in san francisco where i live,

i usually travel a lot to japan, twice a year,i always get visa within 5 days to japan using refugee travel document,

good luck to you

I travelled to South Korea with my national passport and Advance Parole, i got the visa same day. It was a business trip though, i donno if it makes any difference.

Thank you so much for your ideas and answers. I think using national passport and Advance Parole is a good idea. There are two benefits:less cost and more quickly as comparing to RTD. It's still early for me to make decision now but when I can do this it'll probably be too late to apply for RTD. The one year validity of RTD is a big BUG which costs us more money and inconvenience. Thanks again.
