Visa stamping in Chennai - Help

I have a H1 visa valid till 2007. I got married recently and I will be accompanying my wife to the consulate for her H4 visa and I plan to get my H1 stamped too (I switched cos since my previous H1)

If I get a 221g, is it possible for me to return to US with the old visa that was valid till 2007 and have my wife go alone for H4 visa later on?

Will my visa be cancelled if I get a 221g.

Yes, most probably your old visa will get cancelled if you get 221g. It depends on consulate but I think in Chennai it will get calcel. So don't get your hopes high on it.
