Hello,
I have to visit India and have to get my visa stamped H1-B. Now i have misdemeanor charge for domestic violence. I did go out of US after that and entered without much problem. But now i have to visit consulate to get my visa stamped (extension). So will that be a reason for denial of visa?
I would really appreciate your relevant experience.
Thanks,

Please share your experience !!.

Can you please share your experiences at the U.S consulate and at the Port Of entry after your Mis-demeanor conviction for Domestic Violence ?. Is there a hope of getting a H1-B visa after this conviction and coming back into the U.S without problems?. How will the Immigration officer deal with this kind of cases at the Port of Entry and how will the U.S consulate deal with this kind of cases ?.I had a similar conviction and spent about $30,000 and still didn't see any solution to either getting a H1B stamped or travelling outside of the U.S.

Travelling on Advance Parole !!

Guys , Immigration is a complex subject and it is very difficult to predict what may happen at the Consulate or at the Port of entry. Any way, I had a d.v record in December 2005 and got it reduced to Simple battery 242 in 2006. I am planning to travel on my Advance parole visa in January 2008 and will goto the U.S consulate in New Delhi to get H1-B visa stamped.
