Visa stamp on passport!

I recently receive letter from Buffalo asking me to submit my passport for visa stamp, the letter says that if I do not submit within 30 days I might lose my application.

1. I will be traveling out of country for 3 months, can I
ask for extentions? Has anyone been in similar situation where
he/she can not submit passport right away within one month?

2. How long would it take for them to process the visa?

Write to Buffalo and explain your situation. They may issue your visa before you travel or grant you an extension [if you have very good reasons for travelling]. Keep copies of your correspondance and proof that you have written to them and that they have received your letter/fax/email.

Were you able to talk with the CIC about your case, where you would not be able to send your passport for 3 months? How did you contact them? I got the same letter askign for my passport, but i have to travel in the next 20 days. How long does it take for them to return the passport back? Your help greatly appreciated.

I recently recevied my approved I-797 (H1-B) and wondering about getting my I-94 before December 15, 2002. If i get the I-94 beofre than do i still need a Stamp visa to cross the border after Dec 15 or will i recevied the same letter to submit my pasaport to the authorities for stamp visa. Please help.
