How is I-485 approval related to AP? I thought you can use AP to enter the country even if your I-485 is approved during your stay outside. Or am I wrong ?

May be, he wants to use his AP and give it away at the border (bridge of Americas) to get the passport stamped for continuation of H1/H4.
Or he is too scared of thieves in Eu that wants to keep H1, AP, and all relevant papers with him in separate boxes (way back home in US).
Or God knows why does he want it?

Thank you all for your replay, and sorry for the confusion.
I currently have EAD/AP, and also received extension approval for my H1 for another 3 years (B/W, it took 10 month to get the extension approved).
This is my second sets of EAD/AP, and the expiration date is already 5 month apart. It took me 2 month to get the second EAD, but 6 month to get second AP.
I don't want to use AP to travel abord because who know how long it will take to get next AP when this one expires. I would rather go to Mexico to get a H1 visa stamp on my passport.
Just wonder whether it will be a problem since H1 is nonimmigration visa and I am in the middle of immigration process.
