I have an approved I-797 from a new employer and I was planning to go in for Visa Revalidation. Currently my passport has a valid visa (till January 2006) from my old employer.
Well I checked Visa Revalidation criteria on the http://www.travel.state.gov/ website and this is what it says about Visa Revalidation regarding change of employer case:
"If you changed employers and received a new I-797, Notice of Action, you may reenter the U.S. with a valid visa in the appropriate category and the valid I-797 from your new employer, even though the visa is annotated to reflect your former employer. The Visa Office will not revalidate a visa to reflect a change of employer unless the visa will expire in sixty days or less. "
Does this mean that right now I am not eligible for visa revalidation? I was planning on taking a trip to the Bahamas in August and I think I need a passport with a valid visa to reenter the US. Can I use my old visa to reenter with my new I-797? Any advise will be appreciated.
Thank you
