When does a visa number get allotted to I-485 applicant?
In my case I have recently replied to the RE. Is there any chance that my I-485 application will be on hold because of no visa number availabily?

It all depends upon your category (EB1, 2 etc.) and PD.

I presume since your have received an RFE, your PD must be current. Anyway please post the details
