Visa Issuance Fees Eliminated?

Friends,
we have paid Rs. 4600 and Rs 281 towards application fees and courier fees at and HDFC bank. I remember reading that US embassy has eliminated the Rs.2600 visa issuance fees for B2 visa seekers? is that true?

If true, required documents, photos and the receipt needs to be taken to the consulate on the interview date and no DD's.

We have made an appointment for Feb 12th 2007
 
Yes that is true no Visa issuance fee is required any more. Take all the required documents.

If applying in Mumbai you may need to send the documents in advance
