Currently in India to revalidate the H1. I attended the interview at chennai consulate on 7th Nov. I had expired and new passports stapled together. The VFS guy stapled the Visa issuance fee DD to the back cover of the old passport( didn't notice that time). He went through the documents and after some time detachted the old passports from new and handed me the old passports. Went to the interview and the visa was approved.

Waiting for the passport to come back. While checking the old passport found the DD attached!!!. Needless to say I'm worried now. What will happen will I get passport with the visa? Since VFS is closed during the weekend I can't do anything now

Since pre-screening is done by VFS everyone assumes the DD is checked and enclosed in the passport. Since this guy did a careless mistake now I my return trip may get delayed.

Any suggestions?

P.S: They scrapped the visa issuance fee on 8th Nov. but I was there on 7th when it was required. Only If I had booked the appt on 8th this mistake would not cost me dearly :(

Further on this subject..

Called Chennai consulate and they said not a big problem. Send the DD by courier to the cashier and they will take care of it.
