visa for my mom

I am sponsoring visitor visa for my mom. I am on h1-b here. My current visa stamped on my Passport is getting expired on
MAR 2004. But I have a valid H1-B approved which expires in OCT 2005.

Since my current visa on my passport is getting expired within 4 months, will it be a problem applying for her and asking for her stay for 6 months? Since I am having valid h1-b will that be enough ?

Anyone had this problem before ? Please help
