Visa for Father

Dear Sir,
I am a Indian citizen presently in USA on L-1B visa. My Father was born in Goa,India but has a Portuguese citizenship . My Father is presently living in Singapore with my brother.
My Father would like to live with me here in USA for 1 year and than move back to India. I would like to know how should I proceed to get this done for my Father.
I tried looking up various methods but looks like the maximum he can stay is for 6 months on visitor visa and after that extension can be applied for but that is never guaranteed.I cannot risk applying for extension and it getting declined.

Your father cannot come to live in the US if you are on L1B visa. He can only visit you temporarily and the visit is usually granted for an initial period of 6 months.
You must be a US citizen in order to sponsor your father for a permanent resident visa.
