I saw this message on the State website:

NOTE: As of February 2, 2012, DV Lottery visa fee has been reduced from $819 to $440 per applicant.

Your signature says your interview was in december

And yes, the visa fee has been reduced: http://forums.immigration.com/showt...r-4-NOV-2ND-2011/page18&p=2567147#post2567147

"the Department reexamined the CoSM’s inputs to the Diversity Visa Lottery Fee. Upon reexamination, it was decided that the present fee adequately accounts for the costs of processing the immigrant visa application and enhanced security. The Department, therefore, has decided it will not charge the separate Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee or Immigrant Visa Security Surcharge to Diversity Visa Lottery selectee- applicants and will amend the Schedule of Fees to so reflect."

Visa fee

I am assuming that this is for CP? I have never heard of fee being paid when we go for AOS interviews.

Good that they have reduced this fee...in almost half!

Are you guys sure? I dont see this being updated in the "visa fees" section at various US embassies homepages.
Anybody who is current now please confirm.

I confirm. I had sent an e-mail to the consulate where I will have my interview in less than two weeks. They confirmed that the fee is reduced. I even read an interview experience of a family who had their interview on Feb. 3rd in Moscow (that is how I found out about the reduction of the fee). Since the fees are the same for everybody, there's no more doubt. ;)

Wonderful! Thanks.

why did i pay $819 on Feb 3 , 2012 ? hmmm I will try to ask the embassy.

You definitely should. The Federal Register says that the decision was made on January 23rd and that starting February 2nd they should have charged you the new, reduced fee. Please let us know how it goes.

it look like some embassies have not changed their payment information.

I have just looked on the US Embassy webiste in London and the following appears:

Immigrant Visa Fees

•Diversity Immigrants - $379 plus the DV Fee - $440.00

So this means that the DV winners are still paying $819 in the UK

Anyone been for an interview this week in London? how much did you pay per person?

I think the $440 diversity visa fee is a welcome good surprise. Just some embassies are quicker than others.
For instance, embassy in Australia has the correct amount ($440).

Please has anybody in Nigeria confirmed the visa fee?

@Judend,if you are still having doubt about the visa fee reduction, then i guess you call the consulate/embassy or KCC if you truely want to be sure?cos its now $440 not $819.Email the US ambassy in Lagos to get your info?lagosIV@state.gov.
