Visa expires soon -- How to land in future?

We got PR visa from buffalo. However after seeing denial of entry (landing) at Canada border, for the persons with I-485 pending at USA, we do not want to land in Canada. We do not want to risk US immigration. Therefore our PR visa is going to expire without usage. Is there a way we can complete the PR process after expiry of visa? Is it necessary to re-apply again with all the processing fees and landing fee?

Can any one exprienced this? Please post your advise.
 
You would have to land before the immigrant visa expires, no exceptions. You can fly into Toronto, I have never heard of a case of denied entry for people with US green card pending.
