Visa expires before ext approval ????

Hi all,

Situation:
7th year ext filed. Current I-94 expires before 7th year extension approval comes in.

Is it valid/legal status can continued, if the receipt date (7th year extension) is before I-94 expiry date? Please share your expertise.
