VISA Bulletin update - Now what?

Hi,
My wife filed the follow-to-join application a few months before I get my greencard in 2005. Our PD is 21MAY01. The attorney told us that her case (I-485) will not get adjucated until a visa number has become available for her. Now that the visa bulletin has been updated (01JUL01), what does it mean? Should we expect the case to be adjucated this month? Or the waiting game is not over yet?

Please advise.

I remember when I had my GC done, I didn't have to check for visa number availability. What does this have to do with I-485 anyway? I thought the visa bulletin is only for those who are waiting for the LC adjudication.

You thought wrong dude.. A Visa Number must be available for your PD to get your case filed or Approved (if already filed). Send an email to CSC-XII.485@dhs.gov on first June & request for processing your spouse's case

Our PD will be current in June.

Just got off the phone with the attorney. She said we should hear something from the USCIS by end of June. If nothing happens, she will send in a request. I wish someone on this forum whose PD is earlier than 01MAY can confirm that he/she had gotten the GC recently.
