VISA BULLETIN FOR AUGUST 2007 out

Another thread says "current" until 8/17/07.

Not sure whether we will catch the last train or not..

thank god, it is not current

Hello All,
I know you guys are frustrated with Visa Bulletin..While it is disappointing for most of the people, it gives USCIS some time to process pending cases...otherwise, all these subst-labor guys would flood the USCIS taking considerable amount of resources..
thanks,
Sri

Well, it is once again current,at least, for the month of July.

D. JULY EMPLOYMENT-BASED VISA AVAILABILITY

After consulting with Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Visa Office advises readers that Visa Bulletin #107 (dated June 12) should be relied upon as the current July Visa Bulletin for purposes of determining Employment visa number availability, and that Visa Bulletin #108 (dated July 2) is hereby withdrawn.

Is that no more approval for all pending cases from 2001/02 from Aug..???
Do we have to wait till Oct bullettin...........really sucks for people waiting in Q for longer time .

don`t know what the status of pending cases is going to be?But think about this
1) the workload will definitely increase(new 750000 applications) and approvals may slow down.
2)Don`t know if they will take up any more acses which were not pre-adjucated and did not ahve any visa numbers alloted
3) I don`t think we should be distressed-I mean think about the poor guys who have been waiting to file 485 for years and haven`t been able to-its not their fault-the USCIS and the whole process sucks-but not because of subst labor or any other applicants-the villain is the FBI and the USCIS-they take so much money-why can`t they increase the number of people working on this thing.
Anyway good luck everyone

I read somewhere that initial receipt of application is handled by a different team of people who are separate from the IOs who adjudicate cases.

The most likely scenario is that this flood of new applications will be processed by the "initial receipt" team and then stowed away to be picked up later on by the IOs as per the processing times (which may retrogress in the future because of the workload - not talking about PD retrogression here).

In any case, the next two weeks are going to be critical for us. I am holding out filing my AP until the very last days of this month.

I agree. Division of labor is by definition part of what bureaucracy is about... it's unlikely the same people are doing the receipt part and the adjudication part at CIS.

Many of the new cases are retrogressed in effect instantly they are received, so hopefully, this means July filers have their applications accepted as they should on the one hand, and the pending I485s won't be so adversely affected on the other (AP/EAD processing times will most certainly be affected badly, though).

We have prepared for the spouse's AP application. We will wait until the last minute and if unfortunately we don't hear anything, we'll ship it out via express mail to beat the 7/30 deadline.

Just a little advice: file AP application electronically. That way it will not go through the mailroom.
and on the envelope with supporting evidence write: "Attn: E-filed form I-131" and it will be forwarded to adjudicating officer immediately upon arival.

Thanks, we first thought of sending it via mail, but we'll follow your advice and try electronically. Either way, I assume they need to receive everything before 7/30 so we'll be sure to get everything done accordingly.
