Why was the Visa Bulletin delayed ?!

greetings,

(proable reasons) and when you think they'll go back to April 2002 ? to my luck I have applied in April 2002 !

Thank You in Advance

Bad luck

Yes, 2A numbers have been retrogressed back to April 22, 2001. This was done because alot of adjusment of status cases have been received from USCIS and the there will be another retrogression for July accroding to the Visa Bulletin.

You are so unfortunate, as you almost have your greencard in your hands and retrogression take it away from you. All you have to do is wait.

You're kidding? A retrogression again for July??? Where did it say that?

Ah, I see that. Do you think they will retrogress it back for the 1A category as well? That one right now is under April 2001 as well.

They said that they will do it for the May Visa Bulletin, but they did'nt follow up on that proposal. I think that if they did, there would have been a cry for foul, because that category has'nt move for over a year now.

I see. Well I'm crossing my fingers. have there been any rumours about it one way or the other? If it's been sitting idle for a year, I would expect it to move up.

eurika

excuse me if i seem like i am stating the obvious, but i am new to all this mumbo jumbo. but according to what i have read it seems like the maximum retrogression time they have to hold off is till the end of the "fiscal year" which is on the 30th of september, retrogression happens when the annual numerical limit is been reached. now the visa bulletin states : "This has been done in an effort to hold the issuance levels within the applicable annual numerical limits for the affected categories". so if i am reading correctly, the limit is not reached yet, but they are close. and anyways, in the worst case scenario, i'll have to wait till september !

Dont beleive that one bit about after October 1st, it depends on the amount of people who adjust status with priority date earlier than yours, you might not hear anything for a long time.

Example: not even 1 number was issued in F1 after October 1st to persons who have a priority date after April 22, 2001., and that category was stuck long before that.

So don't count on October 1st. Just have some hope

You will definitely have to. As long as your PD is not current - no greencard

Hope that the retrogression planned for next month does not take effect!
