Virginia - Name Change

We are planning to go abroad by October and i will be sending my applicaiton by Monday 04/20/09 and debating on changing our names along with this process. But if name change delays the oath ceremony, and will falll at the same timeline of our vacation, do not know what to do.. So please share your views and appreciate your time greatly..

1. I see that, Farifax does not do same day oath but the arlington does it. do you know what determines, which files go where??


2. We are planning on changing our names including first names, can this be done at the same day interview / oath ?? or in the next day oath??


3. Can interview or oath dates be re-scheduled if they fall in the dates of our vacation??.. (we are going to our home country after 4 years and i do not want to be in a limbo of if we go or not go)

4. Anything else you suggest..

Fairfax and Arlington DOs are the same , and they have same day oath as well(if you dont have peding anything on ur case), If you change ur name there are chances that you wont get same day oath.
 
and yes you can reshedule ur interview by sending them a written request along with ur interview bottom portion and ur air tickets copy. they will give u the next available day which would be two are three months later of ur current date. most of the people think that it will delay there citizenship process and uscis will put ur file in dark room forever, its not like that once the case is in do u will be given the next available interview date. Have fun on ur vacation.
