Thank you for reading. Thesedays, I hear people get arrested in the airport and I am very much worried about myself.

I have a class C misdemeanor conviction(operating per se) with a year unsupervised probation. It involved 60 day sentence but was suspended.
Will this conviction cause problem at the port-of-entry? Will I be getting 2nd inspection at the POE? In addition to the court record, what paper or evidence should I carry not to be denied entry? Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks for your reply

Thank you for your reply. I am planning to enter with F visa (student). I would really appreciate your advice.

what was the conviction for?

It will depend what was the misdemeanour for. Also what country is your passport from? If you are from any of the terror watch countries and have had a conviction for violence related issues, it is unlikely you will be allowed back in.

Thank you for your reply mplbob.
The conviction was for operating per se as I menntioned above. To explain, it is offense for operating with BAC over 0.08 but below 0.15. It is less serious (class C misdem.) than OWI(operating while intoxicated) or DUI. And I am not a citizen of those watchout nation. Will appreciate your advice.

I am not really sure here, but my guess is that you should be allowed in. Make sure you fill your INS forms truthfully. Additionally from this month all students will be registered through the INS.

DId you go out of country?

Did you visit India?
Hi,

Did you go out of country? Was it OK at Port of Entry? Please let me know, I am also in similar state like you.

Any information is greatly appreciated...
