A petition from your spouse (Immediate Relative of US citizen) vs. a petition from your employer (EB categories) are two very different ways to obtain your greencard.
For Immediate Relative petition, you have to start with your spouse filing I-130 for you.
For Employment-based, thru your employer, you start with Labor Certification, then I-140.
The final stage for both is I-485 or Adjustment of Status.
