Hello,

I am working for a multinational software company (One of the top 10 software companies in the world) in India. The parent company in the US has sponsored for a H1B visa for me and I have got the approval notice. My interview is on 3rd of Dec 2003 at Mumbai Consulate. I have more than 4 years of work experience in the same company in India. My educational qualifications are
- Diploma in Computer Engineering from BTE Bombay.
- Bachelors in Computer Engineering from Pune University.

I completed my Bachelors in 1999, but still I do not have a degree certificate, cause I never applied for the convocation certificate (we need to seperately apply for convocation :-( ).

I have a provisional degree certificate, all marksheets and transcripts.

I have applied for the convocation at the university and am going to get the degree certificate on 26th of Dec. But my interview is on the 3rd of Dec.

So when I go for the interview, what are the chances for rejection ? Will they consider provisional degree certificate + letter from university stating the convocation ceremony date for this year ?

As the matter is very urgent, please help!!!!!!!!

Thanks.

i see no issue with provisional degree certificate. but note that those certificates are not valid for more than specified time based on the university policies. check if there is any such statement in your provisional certificate.

if the consulate ask for the actual degree certificate then you may state the reason that you have just applied for the degree certificate. a letter from the university will surely help to convice the consulates. also try to get copy of that letter notorized.

i would suggest you to get a letter from your university and make a copy of it. then have the copy notorized and put it into the sealed envelop with university seal. you can provide this if asked or attach it along with other documents you would be submitting for your visa.
