Very strange RFE! Suggestions?

We received today RFE to my wife's AOS. They ask for "documentation establishing your identity" they ask for photocopy of "passport or driver's licence....". We obviously did send a photocopy of the passport's identity page with the I485 and they DON'T say that there is anything wrong with that. Also, my wife already received her EAD card which is an identity card by itself(?!)

Did we had to send a photocopy of all pages of the passport?
Should we use a photocopy of the EAD for this RFE?
Should we send them all sort of identity documents we have? (US and foreign driver's licenses)?
Isn't that strange?

This is just a wild guess, since you don't provide much information, including which application or petition the RFE is for, but is it possible that you attached a copy of the passport page to the I-765 but not to the I-485, and the two were separated? e.g. the I-765 was processed at the NBC while the I-485 was sent off to another service center? I wouldn't expect this to be a problem in most cases but it could explain this EAD.

You should not have had to send a photocopy of all pages of the passport You should have sent a copy of the I-94 however.

Sending too much should not be a big deal, especially since this is redundant. I don't think it is necessary to send more than her passport and US state driver's license. If you want to send a copy of the foreign ones too then go ahead.

And no I don't find this to be a particularly bizarre RFE. Even if the above explanation is wrong it's always possible something got lost in the shuffle. Papers get taken out of files and misplaced all the time. (Another reason to put the applicant's name and A#/SSN on every exhibit.)

You nailed it!
Indeed, I looked back at the application and I had the identity page on the I-765 and the I-131 but not on the I-485! I feel pretty stupid now.

Thanks for your help!
