Vermont Consular Return procesing dates

What is your question?

VSC does not do consular processing-it is done at a consulate in your home country. Refer to imminfo.com to get the basic procedures involved. Also check cptracker.com to get timelines for different steps-including I-140 which is done at INS service centers like VSC.

Hi ! Rajeev ,

There is something called consular returns at VSC. ie. VSC may send case back to INS if they think they can not process it. Or they need some more info. The current processing dates for VSC on this site use to display the date for Consular returns also but this year I never saw that. So thats what wanted to confirm , if anybody can help...

thanks

I am sorry...

But I am not aware of 'consular returns'. By the way VSC is a service center for INS. So they can't send a case back to themselves. May be you meant NVC-which is the National Visa Center-maintained by the Dept of State. INS falls under the dept of justice-now under homeland security. If anyone knows better, please post.

VSC is in INS

What Rajeev has said in his posting is correct.

Suhas123, I think you are confused between INS and NVC.

INS (Immigration and Natrualization Services), is now BCIS (Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services). INS/BCIS takes care of other serivces like labor, I-140, I-485, H1, etc.

NVC is National Visa Center, which only deals with the Consular Processing cases. NVC fall under DOS (Department of State).

Hope this help remove some of your doubts.

Thanks.

Thanks Rajeev and CPDelhi,

Yes I did a mistake. I meant NVC. So, NVC send case back to INS and INS(vermont) treats it as Consualr Returns. So just wanted to know the current dates fir the same.

Please let me know if you get any info. on that.

Thanks
