I have a NIW case at TSC. The auto-phone message says that " the verdict decision on this case was mailed on 10/10/2000". What does this mean? denied or approved or unknown yet?
Any input is appreciated!

sorry, but yes it seems as if your case is denied. A typical denial message goes like "A written decision has been mailed to you ..."

Has the INS asked you submit additional evidence before it made the decision. Meanwhile which officer was charge your case.

Did you have a lawyer help you in filing your NIW application? My husband also filed an NIW application at TSC and is still waiting for a response. I would really appreciate it if you could please post the details of your case, i.e., what category (EB1, EB2), what\'s your field and where you got your degrees, work experience, any RFEs, etc. I hope you can still get approval on your case. If you don\'t have a lawyer, it might help to hire one. NIWs are very tricky, or so I heard. Good luck and thanks for any information you can share with us!

Since some of you ask, follows are my case outline

1) Ph.D. from top 5 in my field in US
2) more than 10 publications & many citations
3) about 5 presentations
4) about 10 reds from top guys in my field including two from both congressman and representative
5) 2 memberships in my fields
6) No lawyer.

You guys have the case pending should not too worry about this since NEW largerly depends on which officer review your case. Wish you all luck.

right now, I work for US Army in California and I am looking for a lawyer to go through Labor certificate. Could you please recommend a lawyer to me? if you like, please mail me at

Thanks a lot for the information. I\'m just wondering if you can still get an appeal or re-evaluation. You might want to consult a lawyer first about this before actually going through labor certification. I know most lawyers provide a free evaluation of prospective cases. Mr. Khanna, host of this site, is one good lawyer that I know of. In California, I think Shusterman is good. I also think Mathew Oh is knowledgeable. My husband hired Jose Latour in Gainesville, FL mostly because we\'re residing in Florida right now, and we\'ve heard that so far he\'s had 100% success rate with his NIW cases. (We\'re keeping our fingers crossed). I also think that investing in a "good, reputable" lawyer is worth it since they would know a lot more about the system. Fyi, here are the addresses of the lawyers I\'ve mentioned earlier:

http://www.immigration.com/ [Law Offices of Rajiv S. Khanna]
http://www.shusterman.com/ [Law Offices of Carl Shusterman]
http://www.immigration-law.com/ [The Oh Law Firm]
http://www.usvisanews.com/ [Jose E. Latour and Associates]

Please visit their websites and see if you can get a free evaluation of your case.

For lawyer search (by location), you might want to check out:

Good luck!!!
