Various Job positions

I worked in a company for almost 3 years
In that time, I had changed , promoted to 3 different positions

Now they sent me a employement verificiation letter, with the last
employment position i had before i left the company. Also they never mailed me a letter, they just faxed.

How do i handle this situation?
My original offer letter, says one position, employment verification fax says another position.

Also , is FAX acceptable as verifiyable document?
