Validity Of Pcc Is For One Year

Just received a mail from Mumbai Consulate.
The PCC obtained from Indian consulates in US is valid for ONE year.

thanks Shanks1975..... is it possibele for you to post that email here or can send me in private

i do need it because i did got my PCC 5 months back in november2001 and my interview is suppose to be scheduled in june. so i may need to have copy of that when i appear for interview in june.

Dear Sir/Madam:-

I have been living in USA for the last 3 years and I have applied for
Consular Processing of my Green Card.

I have already obtained Police Clearance Certificate from Indian Consulate,
New York.It was issued in the month of March.Now if I my interview date
is
beyond September, do I need to get a new PCC.
How long is the validity of PCC??

Please advise if the same PCC will hold good.I am not planning to visit
India any time before my interview.

bhagat,send out a mail to Mumbai consulate..they would reply to you in a weeks time

Keep a copy of the same...Also.,.no where in their website have I seen expiry of PCC .I called up Indian Consulate New York too.
They too said that there is nothing like expiry of PCC..

It probably depends on when u left for India and how long u stayed.
Thats why they have the 6 months rule ( to get PCC from all places exceeding 6 months stay )..
