validity of I-140?

Hi, does anyone know how long an approved I-140
(self-sposored EB1-EA or EB2-NIW category) is valid?
If I leave the country for a couple of years, can the
currently approved I-140 be used to apply for CP
at that time? Any info will be appreciated.

I would think at least a year. Remember the days when the priority dates for some EB-3 countries would be 3-4 years back. Sens an E-mail to the consulate you would use. At least get the ball rolling and get your case sent to the National Visa Center.
