Apply soon, induce artifical non-employment RFE (discuss with ur Lawyer)
You have all the reason to apply immediately, if your employer is on your side for filing for I485. Go thru a good lawyer. Try to find a project on your own and sub-contract thru ur employer.
Just a Thought: If you need to get a RFE not related to employment, avoid sending the Birth Cert in your 485 packet (or the affidavit, if you require to send one). Again, discuss with your lawyer (if he can understand your situation).
