Usual time between PR Stamping on Passports and Deadline Date for Landing in Canada?

Can any one tell me how the Deadline date is set for Landing in Canada after PR visa is Stamped on Passports. I got a notice to send my Pasports for PR Stamping. I'd like to know when I should be prepared to goto Canada at the latest. I know they will put that on the PR Visa, but I want to know the Criteria for them to decide the date.
Also, we turned in our medicals on May 12, 2004.

You have 1 year from the day you had your medicals done to land in Canada. That will be your PR Visa expiration date. Si I guess you will have until May11th 2005 to enter Canada.
