Using old I-140 priority date

I have an approved I-140 from my previous employer (Approval date April 2001)

I restarted my GC process with my current employer and concurrently filed for I-140 and I-485 (September 2003)

My attorney mentioned that "they can request the INS folks to consider my prior I-140 date for the current I-140 application"

All the attorney did was to mention about my approved I-140 in the cover letter to the INS

My question is

1. Is this enough for INS to consider my old proiority date.

2. Since INS is processing I-140 from April 2002, does that mean, my I-140 application with April 2001 priority date will be processed immediately.

Any comments around this issue will be helpful.

I am not a guru.

But AFAIK, priority date had nothing to do with 140 processing dates ever!

Previously priority dates were used to detemine the date of filing the 485 after 140 approval. Now all priority dates are current. And after BCIS introduced concurrent filing priority date has lost its meaning.

If you get your 140 cleared, praise your stars and carry a piece of wood wherever you go :D !
