I came to USA with H4 visa which is currently expired. Then I changed my status to F1, but have not got any F1 visa stamped in my passport yet. In the mean time my husband applied for our green card and we have received our EAD cards and advance payroll. We are now waiting for our I-140 and I-485.
I have two questions.
1. Can I work in summer by using the EAD card? Can I still be in F1 status after using the EAD? Or I should use my CPT for the usmmer job? (I want to maintain my F1 status after I am done with my summer job.)
2. Can I use the advance payroll to travel outside USA (e.g., Canada)? Or I should simply use my I-20 to reenter USA from Canada?
Is there any undesirable side effects of using EAD and AP while I am in F1 status? Can anyone please clarify?
