Using EAD, can I do another, commision based, Self Employed work? Not a W2 work.

Yes , you can work on EAD through self-employed

One of immigration lawyer told me that I can work on EAD through self-emoployed after 180 days. Any commnets?

My question is kind of second job, on part-time based. I\'m stilll working for the same company whic

Please help me. Thx for ur answers.

I don\'t suggest working for 2nd company..

If you are serious about GC, do not attempt to work for others except the GC sponsered employer, unless the 2nd company pays you in cash. Avaoid being on 2nd payroll. Because if you get RFE from INS, they mostly ask for W2.. Pay stubs etc..

But if you are a Risk_Taker you can, you can..

Thank you rapnpop.

Again, anyone else has any idea, if one can work on
Self-employed with EAD. We get a check for the commission and
we pay the Social security, medicare, fed and state Taxes
ourselves in this case. If any one can help, I appreciate it.

Thx.

Thank You Kumaran. Please, if someone has more info, post it here.

As you may be well aware, working another job is not a problem
as long as GC sponspering company is still supporting your GC.
In my case, they do. But, self-employed is something
different from another W2 based employment. IRS allows
people to do Self-employed job and file Tax Return at the
Year end. You may receive 1099 type document in some cases.
In other cases, you do not receive anything. For example, when
you do a Landscape for a Home Owner and get paid, its Self-employed
job. The Home owner may either pay you cash or check. Now, its
your responsibility to report the Income to IRS. You pay
all taxes such SS tax and Medicare tax, etc. IRS allows such
work. But, now my question here is, Does INS allow us, we are
having EADs, to do such jobs?

Thx.
