Using EAD and it's expiring.

Using EAD and it's expiring, renewal pending :-(

My EAD expires end of this month.
In between assignments now, no job.
But got an offer for a month project.
- Same employer, H1 expired and currently working on EAD which also expires end of this month.(applied for renewal on sep 9, still waiting)

what are my options to take that 1 month project.
I have to work on W2 for the intermediate company. (not through my sponsered company.)
Can I work?

my ead with rd 09/11 approved on 10/15. hope u wii hear something v.soon.
