Using EAD and H1 B renewal pending..Question??

I have a question.

My H1 visa and LCA are going to expire in may month end. I have applied for H1 renewal and waiting for it.

I have EAD and not using it right now and is with the same employer. My wife's name is included in the 485 last week. Not yet received the receipt notice.

My employer is asking me to change to EAD so that he does not need to apply for LCA again and employer will get some tax benifits ( I heard ).

Is it good for me to use EAD If I am with same employer? If I use EAD CAn i send the H1 papers for stamping in the passport?

Employer is threatening me he willnot pay If I do not send a copy of EAD to him by tomorrow.

Pelase advise me.

Just my 2 cents ...
There is nothing wrong in starting to work on your EAD unless your 140 is not approved yet. If your 140 is not approved yet, stick with H1.
It is believed that if you start working on EAD and your 485 gets rejected you will be immediately out of status and you cannot switch back to H1 (you have to apply H1 against the quota, leave the country and then re-enter etc...). If you think your 485 would be rejected, stay with H1. But, I would not worry abt 485 getting rejected.
