Using AP to enter, use "visitor" line or "Green card/citizen" line?

Enter in US on AP

Visitor line and your I-94 will say AOS and end date will be as it is expiration date of AP.

Officer will ask you all three Copy of AP. He will stamp all three and give you only two back.

This is what happen with me at Chicago Airport last month.

I came back on AP in last week of Nov 2005. Port of Entry Minneapolis, MN. I waited in visitor line. When it was my turn and the immigration officer saw the AP documents he asked me to go to another line that said "New Immigrants". There was only one line of this kind. Rest was as ajoo said.

Ask them which line is for ADVANCE PAYROLL LINE

Ask for the person who stands there, which counter is for ADVANCE PAYROLL, they will have a seperate line, just i came back 3 backs back, Port of Entry is LOS ANGELES... in that counter, only 2 people are there, including with me, they ask 3 Advance payrolls and asked me what is my mother name and my date of birth.... That's it, it was done in 15 minutes.

I have rcvd only 2 papers for AP from TSC

Guys: you are all talking about getting 3 papers for AP. I got only 2 recently for my AP from TSC. Am I supposed to get 3 instaed of 2? Is it a mistake on TSC's part?

I also have 3 papers and officer asked me for 2. she kept blank for herself and gave me stamped back. So in a way yes I have 2 1 stamped and 1 non-stamped. I asked her what would I do next time when I go out o country since I have only 1 blank. she said it it is OK even if we take extra XEROX copy and give Xerox copy to Officer.

we came through atlanta and went thro the citizen/PR line. they took us to a special room and gave us I94 cards.
betsy

I have used AP in Chicago and Atlanta. In Atlanta they asked us to go to a separate room where we waited for 30 min. Once the officer took our papers we got I94 in less than 5 min. in chicago we stood in the visitor line and our APs and I94 got stamped in the counter itself.

I used AP and entered via Atlanta and Detroit.
In Atlanta as others suggested, they made me go to a different room and waited for like 30 min, they stamped my 1-94 and AP and took a copy of the AP and retrned the original one i gave them.

In detroit the officer asked if i had an extra copy, i gave him the extra copy i had, so he stamped both on them + I-94 and kep one of the original copies.

It seems if you have an extra copy they might keep it, or if u just have one, they will make a copy of it for their records. so i think it doesn't matter if u have 1,2 or 3. u will be OK anyway.

How come you guys entered from deferent POE?

Is AP is specific to a POE or not?

Do they ask any kibnd of questions related to the location where you are entering and where you are working etc?

My wife is travelling from INDIA with our kid (born here) and we have AP from Porltand, OR but myt actual consulting company is in Chcicago and my clinet is in Denver. I work from home. I moved here recently and applied for my AP from Portland.

Do they ask any kind of questions related to the clinet or consulting company etc?????

Been out of the country on Advance parole 3 times.

when you first receive the Advance parole you will get two originals from the service center, when you are enterting the country for first time on AP at the POE the officer will stamp both and take one of the originals and return another one to you. Thereafter every time you enter they will just take a copy of your AP and return the original to you

This is what happened to me thrice

Seems to me that every POE has a different way of treating AP folks. Best best is to either stand in Visitor line or simply ask an officer there where to stand. thats it.

Can you visit another country apart from your home country using Advance Parole. I am from India. Could I visit Mexico, Canada etc and come to the US using advace parole. Are there any issues faced by advance parole holders in these countries

yes you can, however please make sure you get a latest I-94 every time you enter the country or make sure your I-94 has not expired. It will be helpful when you apply for renewal

I just came back last Sat. from Seattle - Tacoma airport. It had a separate line for AP. You need to APs and they will keep one and give a copy back to you. It is very easy and do not worry too much.
