Using AP question

My wife just returned from india using AP and the question is in BOMBAY airport they have asked her, a copy of Advance parole Visa as she does not have copy they took One original and looks like they took original AP for many people. and other AP paper is stamped by US immigration i chicago .Is it normal?.....Now she does not have unused original ,what if she wants to go to INDIA again? please adivise..........
 
If it is a multiple entry AP, which all are by default these days, she should be able to use it till expiration. Give photocopies out to whoever needs to keep a copy. I don't think there is a concept of an "used-up" multiple entry AP before expiration.

Hope people with actual experiences will post replies too.
