I will be using my Advanced Parole for the second time when I travel abroard next week. I have my I-94 stamped till January of next year. My attorney says that I should not surrender my I-94 while leaving US? Is this correct? In case I have to give away my I-94, will I still be able to re-enter with my vaid AP. Any comments will be appreciated.

I don't want to argue with your attorney, but what I can assure you that there is no problem if you surrender your I-94. When you re-enter, just fill-up another I-94 form and give it to BCIS (INS) officer - as you did last time.

Regarding your attorney's suggestion for keeping I-94 with you. It makes sense to me because normally I-94 specifies your max time limit you can stay in USA. But in case of pending I-485 there is no time limit and so I-94 is kind of irrelevent.
